"Yorick van Wageningen plays a Dutch pilgrim on the Camino de Santiago in Spain. The Netherlands were a part of the Spanish kingdom before they fought the Eighty Years War to gain their independence. Spain and the Netherlands were also the final two nations in the 2010 World Cup, with Spain emerging the victor."

Oooh. Cool. And the reason I should be interested in any of this is...? What does it have to do with the film or YVW, anyway? "Oh, look, thi's guys a Dutch in Spain. Dutch and Spain are real things that have been together in the past."

Not a huge amount I grant you. I think it's there just to underline that supposedly the Dutch and the Spanish don't get on all that well, because of this historical enmity, going back hundreds of years.

I don't necessarily subscribe to the theory myself.🐭
