Not much of a season

Last weekend wrapped up Wanda's season (which began in early October). I have seen all the shows, and as much as I enjoy Wanda - this show was a complete dud. The show never grew over the past 6 months - every week it seemed like they were 'winging' it. At the end of the show (as well as the beginning) she told the audience (quite honestly) she didn't know if there would be a second season next fall. IF there is one, I do hope they revamp this show and make it much more interesting.

Get rid of 'Keith and Portia' (both who add nothing to the show), get rid of 'Wanda's Bar' (she and the guests are a bit too old to be at a college party), and get rid of 'Wandarama'. The opening monologue is usually good, the 'intro segment' is usually good (especially when she did 'Tiger Woods Cleaning House Prize Give-away'). Maybe she should host something along the lines of "a variety hour" - comedy sketches and musical guests.

Anything would be an improvement - this is just a waste of time and talent.

I agree. The show is in need of some restructuring.

Her opening monologue is usually pretty good, but the Wanda Bar segment can be hit or miss...depending on who she has on. I think she's trying to make that portion of the show something like Bill Maher's show. More often than not, the guest panelists seem rather ill at ease, and the segment really never hits full stride.

I also agree that both Keith and Portia probably need to go. Usually, the only time either are shown is when Wanda is trying to ad-lib with them. The results can be rather uncomfortable to watch.

If the show does come back for a second season, I think we can expect some changes.

That's exactly it - she's trying too hard to be like Bill Maher's show, and it's just not working. She doesn't have the personality for it, and she's not taking enough chances. It does make it uncomfortable to watch at times, as well. I also noticed she looks too many times at her monitors to 'read' her lines - she can't learn them?

I think if she did a variety hour (sort of like Carol Burnett's show in the 70s) she would hit gold. She's great in sketch comedy, and breaks in between for musical guests (Sade?) would be welcome.

Either that, or cut her show down to 30 minutes. One hour of this nonsense is about 40 minutes too long.
