The Problem With Hank

Let me preface this with the fact that I did not catch the last episode so I don't know what happened since I last saw Hank.

Having said that here's what I think at least part of the problem is with Hank.

This show has no obvious path it's going on or anywhere it's going. So for example in MASH we all knew one day the war would end, in Who's The Boss we were all waiting for Tony and Angela to get together, in this show I don't know where it's going.

Another problem is that because Hank has no employment, it really makes you feel like you have no idea where the show is going, and it doesn't give you that nice cozy feeling where you know what to expect.

It's hard to explain but believe it or not most people like to watch the same thing over and over again, how many episodes of Threes Company centered around some type of misunderstanding (Jack is dying) and Jack falling over something? Basically every episode. How many episodes of American Chopper center around Paul Sr bitching at Paul Jr for something, and then everyone going out and playing paintball, or racing go karts?

Anyhow, my solution is that Hank should open his own store again, that gives me the nice warm feeling of knowing what everyone is doing and the show can fall into a groove, it also gives me something to root for and look forward to, Hank getting back to the top, and maybe at the end Hank will decide he doesn't want to be at the top again, and that he's happy running one successful store, but we'll have to wait to find out.

I don't know if that's where the show was going already or not, but if it is they've spent far too much time getting there.
