how did people with no flashforwards know when and where they'd die?

I don't actually remember instances of anyone knowing exactly when or where or how they were going to die. But I guess if someone was at a funeral during their FF or saw something else indicating a loved one had died, they might tell them and figure it out that way. Or maybe policemen working on a case knew and said something Also, I think many were just saying in general, they would not live past the FF day, because then they'd live longer than they were supposed to.

if your talking about demetri then if you would recall a lady phoned him and told him that he will die at that date then when demetri and mark went to hong kong, the lady that called demetri informed him and mark that it will be mark who will kill him(demetri) using mark's gun.

The best explanation or theory I can give for this belated question would be that if someone didn't have a "flashforward" when they blacked out, they found out in due time that most likely that meant they wouldn't be alive on "D-day". Therefore, like with the events we saw with Demitri, that person who did not have a "flashforward" would most likely of (a) went on Mosaic to share that they did not have one, (b) asked around to police stations, hospitals, friends, anyone really if they knew about their supposed death, or (c) someone came to them with information on their supposed death.

I'm guessing through the Mosaic Project. People w/o flashforwards figured out pretty early on that they wouldn't be alive. Obviously some of their deaths were witnessed by people having flashforwards and later this information was collected
