"Look at my ring, my ring . . ."

In at least two episodes I've seen Ellie sing about a ring she is wearing. Is that a song that exists outside COUGAR TOWN or is it something made up for the show?

Made up for the show. In the episodewhere they all talk about how they met, you see its inception.

I saw the show with the "origin story," but it sounded like it was some pop-culture reference. Maybe not.

As far As I could tell, it was just made up for the show, like the Confidence Dance song, the No No, No No dance/song, and Greyson's "Comfortable with My Sexuality" song.

In case you're wondering, Courtney Cox actually was the girl brought up on stage to dance in a Bruce Springsteen video, and I'm pretty sure both Greyson's and Andy's appearances in Alanis Morrisette videos actually happened (so not just something for the show).

Oh, and if you get confused by the Ted "The Buck" Buckland character who could turn any song into a sad song, who mentioned his wife Gooch leaving him, that's not real, but also not made up for Cougar Town. It's a reference to the sad sack Ted and his wife Gooch from "Scrubs" (as is Coffee Bucks, the coffee place also in Scrubs).

Happy New Year! :)
