Set in Sarasota, FL but filmed in Culver City, CA?

You aware that most sitcoms that not set in the LA area are not filmed in the citys that are supposed to be set in right?

Heck, a lost of TV shows are not filmed the citys that they are supposed to be in , so no, its not lame and uncool.

And really, does it matter that much to you ?

If that upsets you, you might need to quit watching TV now....and never, never look into just how many shows that are set in the United States that are filmed in Canada.

Have you ever heard the phrase "filmed on location"?
It's so rare for a movie or television show (especially a sitcom) to actually be filmed in the setting where it takes place, that there's a special term to refer to this phenomenon when it does happen.

Also, it's NOT set in "Sarasota, FL", it's set in the *fictional* town of Gulf Haven, FL.
But sure, it's "totes lame and uncool" of them (as Laurie would say) not to film a fictional television show with fictional characters in the real [fictional] town where it takes place.

One of the most iconic American sitcoms ever..... friends. Filmed in ca. I was disappointed when I learned that. But realized most filmed in ca, the ones n that weren't were filmed in Canada lol

And ... filmed in Nu-Pike, Long Beach, CA ... Dogs Beach, Long Beach, CA ...
