The writing was cringe-worthy and had me pity Cox
I was only interested in watching the one episode that featured Matthew Perry, whom's involvement is how I found out this show existed.
What happened to Monica? I won't get into details on her facial... uh... situation there, so let's focus on the writing of that one episode I skipped trough to see Perry and would never watch this show again.
The writing was terrible. It's clearly a female fantasy, a sad one. Courtney Cox flatters herself by giving Perry ridiculous lines like "how is she not married / oh god she's so unbelievably attractive" that it made me cringe each time, along with each time she tried to act funny. It was just cringy, how insecure is she? I can see why, but come on, have some dignity and perspective on yourself. Unlike you, Perry doesn't look like a trainwreck and still remains a funny, attractive man. And on top of all - a humble one. I guess Courtney's humor kinda worked in Friends back when we were younger and our minds were simpler, but now it's just sad and weird.
And flattering herself based on nothing but insecurities makes watching this show a sad, pityful experience. Which I could have guessed by the title. "Couger Town" could just as easily mean "Aging Plastic Actress Still Wants to Pretend Hot Guys Want Her."
