A ripoff, yes, but...

Nobody's mentioned that they're not even the first to do this with kids. HBO Family has a show called Ghost Trackers that's still shown every weekday at 6:30 PM. At least they do something different there: they make a contest out of it to determine who's the champion ghost tracker. Every day two kids investigate a place that's supposed to be haunted, then they're judged by other kid ghost trackers.
