The music in this movie is amazing..

The original score had me gripped to my seat, and it definitely helped with the emotional tone of the film. There's a lot of melodic choir oh's and ah's it's just so beautiful, I wish I could find an original soundtrack album for this film. Great job!

I'm sincerely glad you liked it. I found it distracting and irritating in its repetition, particularly the vocal effects you mention. That's been done in sooo many films over the years.

I just heard Barry Manilow's Mandy and almost got nauseous. I just hope the rest of the movie is not filled with songs like that.

The score is done by Nick Urata of the band Devotchka. He also did the music for Little Miss Sunshine. If you ever eat a chance to see Devotchka live-do it.

I just downloaded the soundtrack (though I'd love to buy it as well) and it's definitely its own piece of art. I've heard it so many times, and the ending song, "Kiss Me Goodbye" is my favourite.

Now that I watch the movie, I can't help but feel chills whenever the music kicks in. I've grown so familiar with it.

I feel like the music was the best part. Set the tone to something more interesting/sad than it would have been otherwise I feel. Somehow makes me feel for the plight of the title character as a mentally ill lost kinda child...weirdly the music does that! Along with Connelly's acting...

So I liked the music, added a sadness to it, and I liked Connelly's acting. The rest was pretty muddled, hard to get connected to any of the other characters (or maybe we weren't supposed to).
