Didn't really like it - But did like the part w/ jews

When I saw the cover to this flick, I was instantly interested. Then when I read the synopsis I was completely on board.

I start watching it and as soon as the main character starts speaking I was ready to jump off board. I didn't like him at all. He was not sympathetic in the least.

Actually, the only part I found interesting with him was when he and that boy were sitting at the pool and the kid was asking him a bunch of questions.

Other than that, the movie dragged like all hell. I simply could not care about the main character. He was kind of a dick and self defeating. He was surrounded by colorful people who actually cared about them and he was too busy moping to see it.

I only kept watching the film to see him confront the nazi. And here I was not disappointed. I very much enjoyed the dialogue that was between him, the Jews and the Germans. The characters were good and the statements genuine.

However, the first 2/3 of the movie I found boring. I wish the search for the man that humiliated his father took the entire film as opposed to just the last 30 minutes. That way the entire film could have been him interacting with Jews and Germans. Which were the best characters in the movie.
