Why is Mary's mother so happy to see Cheyenne at the end of the movie?

And who is she looking for? And why is she so delighted to see the new face of Cheyenne?

Just a guess, but the first part of your question:

She'd been looking out the window waiting for Tony, her dissapeared son to return in every scene she was in. So I'm assuming that's who she was looking for.

The second part of your question
: even more of a guess, but she was glad to see him grow up and could he could be a "stand in" son for her missing Tony. Also the implied parallel story that Tony had grown up and moved on, while Cheyenne still hadn't (until the end, of course.)
