Ending well worth the patience it requires but..

I missed the start did they ever elaborate on how they all knew each other?

At no point am I going to lick a little frogs head.

No, have just seen it today and they didn't.

Sorry myopic_shift but how is you found anything redeemable about the ending of this movie? This is only my interpretation, but I thought it was awful to the point of almost being morally repugnant with what I felt was a pretty empty and callous gesture at the close which was contrived to suggest redemption for the superficial protagonists with their selfishly hedonistic ways. Btw I actually did like much of the preceding two-thirds of the movie, there were several laugh-out-loud moments that will stay with me, it's just that I wasn't convinced that any of the characters were truly changed in any meaningful way after their ordeal.

I agree, the first 2 hours were quite interesting, but from the moment we hear of Ludo's death, it becomes formulaic and trite.

reply

I agree with you and the other poster that the ending completely undid what was a fine film making it smaltzy and a real sell-out. When the guy arrived with the bag of sand I could have thrown up!

my vessel is magnificent and large and huge-ish

From the beginning I kept thinking "Is this Ludo ever going to die???" It was so obvious that was he big ending.
