The one shot take at the start of the movie is excellent
there's enough time to have become engaged in Ludo and sets the movie up very well. Shame it is not mentioned that much in the forum.

shareWhen I first saw it, I had to rewind to make sure I registered it right. Yep, one shot from beginning to end- fantastic.
Even after I saw the whole film, I went back to see it again. I still can't see the seam that separates out the real actor from the initial impact.
Me, too. It was excellent.
shareIsnt there a cut @2.04 when the night club bouncer appears?
shareSoderbergh's Erin Brockovich begins the same way, with the car Julia Roberts' is driving being t-boned by a truck at the intersection. It's impossible to see the cut where the stuntman is substituted for Roberts.
shareJust watched it and went back to the beginning. Yes, there is a not so subtle but yet trying to be subtle cut as the bouncer crosses the screen. It kinda jumps terribly and the color changed so I'm not sure when happened there with the shot.
shareI believe the cut when the bouncer passed in front of him was just a method to go from the camera being inside the bar to a mobile camera for the motorcycle sequence. I have no idea how they did the rest of the shot, but I was impressed as hell!
shareThe timing of the cut now makes sense....however, it was terribly done as the color changed and it looked very off. But great sequence overall for those first few minutes.
