Why all american music? Why not french music in the soundtrack?

It's the unwritten law of modern French movies, all songs must be in English.

That kept really taking me out of the movie lol. The songs all seemed so...obvious and corny and distracting. But, maybe to an American they are corny and distracting ... but to someone who is not American, they don't stand out in the same way, and seem edgy and creative because they are foreign songs. Like, maybe if an American movie was to use French songs, it'd seem cool to us... but since we're not part of that culture, we wouldn't realize that those are fairly outdated and cliché choices.

They just stuck out like sore thumbs to me lol.
