Most underrated action flick. This movie is a SATIRE of blockbusters!

Battleship is by far the most enjoyable action flick I've seen in ages. The reason is - it's a satire. It's going over top with everything you'd expect to see in a "stupid blockbuster action flick". And it even shows that through the lines.

The movie is retarded, absolutely. However it's clearly something they've AIMED for, which cannot be said for 99% of action films. Most are just bad and serious. Eg. Transformers 2 and 3.

Battleship reminds me of The Other Guys in a sense. People just don't seem to get what's it all about. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1386588/combined

You'll love the movie if you're willing to laugh for the stupidity of blockbusters. What's best - the movie isn't predictable at all.

It's a fun movie, how can people take it too seriously when it's based on the old BOARDGAME of Battleship as well!

Superhero Movie is technically a satire of superheroes movies and Date Movie of romatic films. It doesn't change the fact that the only place these movies belong is the trash can.

welll alexander skarsgård has gotten better roles in Godzilla Vs Kong and The Northman Battleship was 2012 worst movie one of the worst movies in general

Worst movie of 2012? Piranha 3DD, That’s My Boy, and Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 would all like a word!

yeah and Peter Berg has disowned Battleship and gone on to make better films with Marky Mark

It is a joyfully stupid concept movie which I enjoy rewatching every now and then - but I'm not sure they did it as satire. It's no more stupid than seriously making movies based on comic books or toys and anyway - Americans don't do satire.

Actually, this was one of the better sci-fi first contact movies.

The aliens were alien. Their motivations were unclear. Their weapons were far superior to ours.

Agree. It was a great movie deserving coming from The Asylum Studios. I enjoyed it a lot absolutely corny in so many places.

Battleship is a blast! Great fun, plenty of action, some tactics as well, cool visuals. If you want a fun popcorn flick with an upbeat tone, this is it! Ignore the critics.

If you want doom and gloom like Schindler’s List or some black and white art film with Swedish subtitles, this is not for you.

I enjoy all movies. In the mindless thrill ride genre, Battleship gets my two thumbs way up.

I enjoyed it. But I doubt the producers, the stars and the studio were going for satire.
