IMDb's 8.5 is unfair

I have no idea why the show was never a hit (does anyone know?). but the 8.5 rating comes from people who, supposedly, have watched it. compared to shows with the same rating, I think it is really unfair and disappointing.

about the inflation, I agree, actually some of the new shows are really suspicious, sometimes i think they pay people to vote or sth, but after a while they become more rational.
but my point is that even considering the gas leak year (which still includes intro to knots and changnesia and is still not that bad) it is still far better than for example modern family (also 8.5) or suits (8.7). even the office is 8.8. I can give a long list of such things but I hope my point is clear.
Also other than the 1st three seasons I think the last one is a 9, if not more.

Well you know what they say, there's no accounting for taste.

reply

Judging the series as a whole, I'd say that 8.5 is way too high because the last three seasons weren't very good at all.

Working in the movie business since -92

Judging you by your comment, I think you wouldn't even break a 6. Season 5 and 6 are both good. Season 4 even has its moments.

Most people probably rate a show after a season or two. Community had a strong beginning so an 8.5 is about right. I still haven't seen the final season because when it came out it was on Yahoo and I kept having problems getting it to play.

reply

Its on HULU now. If you have never seen the final season then I would suggest to not watch it.

reply

I'll probably take your advice and skip it unless someday I get bored and curious.

reply

I agree. It deserves a score around 5 or 6.

reply

5 / 6 seems a bit low yeah the final few seasons were poor but overall it was a fun show.

reply

no its accurate though the show lost its footing when Chevy Chase and Donald Glover left bettter than How I Met Your Mother
