Should I watch this?

Hey peeps, this is on E4 tonight and I want to know if I should watch it or not? My reservations are about how scary it's gonna be and by scary I mean it-could-happen-in-real-life scary. I've seen Wolf Creek and Eden Lake for example, and kinda wish I hadn't - both scare the hell outta me because I think they could really happen in real life. I guess another thing I'm worried about is how traumatising it is - I watched Human Centipede and it still haunts me cos it's so mentally disturbing. So I want some idea that it's not REALLY disturbing and that it probably wouldn't happen.

It was on Film4 & I took it as a black comedy.

I read a little more in to it and realised that actually I didn't even wanna watch it cos it looks rubbish to me - ironically (when you read my first post) I don't actually like films that seem like they couldn't happen (so like vampire films or ones with zombies) and this one seemed silly to me. The initial thing I read made the film sound very different, like it was one to worry about hence why I originally posted, cos it mentioned sexual violence and stuff.

Hang on, you don't like horror movies that seem like they could happen in real life. However you also don't like movies that you know couldn't happen in real life?

I'm now really curious to know your top 3 Horror Movies? Mine are pretty obvious choices; Alien, The Thing & Romero's Dawn of the Dead.

Haha, yeh I know that was ironic. Like I said don't like stuff that I believe would never happen like with vampires or zombies or monsters cos to me that isn't scary cos I don't think it would ever possibly happen. But also don't like stuff that is really graphic and/or like torture-porn style (Hostel, Human Centipede) or could realistically totally happen (Eden Lake, Wolf Creek).

I don't have a top 3 in horror movies really. I like Alien like you (although wouldn't say its particularly scary), I like Halloween, I like the Saw films, oooooh I really like House of Wax - just cos it's quite a unique one - but I realise in terms of a cinematic masterpiece it's not up there with the likes of Alien or anything :)

Are talking about the recent House of Wax movie starring a certain hotel heiress who likes to make home movies? Did you see Orphan (2009), which is by the same director? It was also on Film4 a few weeks back as part of the Frightfest season you & I seem to be watching.

Yeah it's definitely one to watch if you get the chance. It's been on Film4 once already, so it's bound to be on again.

The Channel 4 family (E4, Film4, More4) have a better variety of horror IMO than most of the other UK terrestrial channels, perhaps in part due to their association with Frightfest. They seem to air the films that get the best reception at the festival.

I'm rather fond of the Japanese/Korean ghost stories, limited gore and good suspense. Keep plugging away on Film4. Not sure what to recommend without knowing which films you've enjoyed

I started off with the movie in the background while on my laptop. I kept getting off the internet to watch what was going on. I actually liked it. I'd give it a 6 out of ten on the horror movie scale.

I thought it was a 2.5 out of 5. The end it ruined it for me.
