Looks damn good if you ask me. The Phantom costume has received too extreme a makeover, but I think it will work. At least they gave him a mask of some kind, which was seemingly not always their intention.

Considering my IMMENLSY low expectations - Wow!
Now that is more like it. This, I can deal with. While I do not dig the new costume yet, the mask represents a massive improvement over the sketches we've seen so far.
This being a the 22nd Phantom I like, I hate how the birthdates of the Phantoms keep getting extended to keep the 21st one current. This then acts nicely as a sequel to the comics of "our" Phantom, and a prequel to the excellent "Phantom 2040" (which really needs a DVD release).
Also, the blood and beheadings was a most welcome surprise. Gore always helps.
When does thing air? Fall 2010?
And more importantly, when is the Blu-ray out and will it be region free?

Is this going to be a movie, mini-series, or full on TV show? Either way, I think that the suit looks horrible!
shareIt's probably too early to jump on the costume and bash it, but it could look a bit more dignifies with some eyeholes at least.
While I don't think of The Phantom when I see this trailer, the 'superspy/burglar/city protector' approach is an interesting new direction. I just hope they don't forget the whole 'jungle legend' thing.

shareThe Billy Zane suit didn't look too bad... it's hard to be excited about a purple costume, so I can see why they'd want to change it. The "new" suit I hope will go through some more changes it'd be really cool that when he is done with his training for him to end up wearing a newer version of the "classic" suit.
But the show it's self looks good. Maybe a bit of highlander where they are going from city to some jungle set, or other location.
I'd like to know when SyFy is looking at airing this.
How is it, "too early to jump on the costume and bash it?" I saw the preview. didn't like it at all. It looks like the suit that the bomb squad technician wears to defuse bombs, only in purple. HORRIBLE concept for someone that is supposed to be moving around and fighting with it on. Then again, they probably couldn't get a stunt man to look like Ryan Carnes so they covered him up as much as possible. Bad choice.
