Syfy Finally Schedules The Phantom

The Syfy Channel has finally announced an airing time for The Phantom miniseries in the United States, six months after its initial Canadian airing.

Craig Engler from Syfy has posted on Twitter that it will air on the network in June 2010.

Not very specific but at least they haven't forgotten about it.

-Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't care.

Hopefully they'll market the hell out of the thing. I want it to be a success, I want more of the Phantom on TV.

Finally indeed. In December of 2009 I kept trying to search for when exactly it would premiere on SyFy and all I kept getting was "2010" and I was like "It's almost 2010 already, shouldn't they be a little more specific?" All through January and most of February was the same. But yeah, I am looking forward to this. The trailer looked really cool. I'm also eager to see Sandrine Holt. I'm a fan of hers and I'm excited that's she's gotten what I'm guessing is an important role.

Do you know when it aires in Europe

reply

Sorry, no idea. And it will depend on what channels it's shown on too, I suppose.

reply

Unless it is picked up for a series - never.

Hold Brillan!

I think there is a chance it'll air in my (and Norse Sage's) native Norway no matter if it is picked up or not, as the character is still popular over here (though sales of comics in general have dropped in the last few years in Scandinavia). Stranger things have happened.

Do you live in Norway? How did you see it?

I'm glad we finally have an airdtae. I just found out! I now have something to look forward to in June, on TV anyway.
