'i love you' seemed a bit fast?

they like went out for 1 date, and one dinner afterwards, and already telling each other they've loved each other since before they met?

also i think they were in school together as well, but still, i think it was waay to quick and forced, it would be better if they just had a scene at the end where they are holding hands or something.

It takes a certain kind of person to put on a mask and run around town beating up bad guys. It takes another certain kind of person to recognize the person under the mask but not do or say anything about it. They both are in "the business" to help people--Kit by going after those who hurt others, and Renny by helping those who are hurt. I thought they recognized those aspects in each other quite well. They compliment each other, ideologically. Plus there was a definite "spark" between them, since we the audience first saw them together.

Good point. I agree the romance was well done. It's the kind of thing I wish had been given more focus in the Billy Zane film, since the Phantom was always a very romantic comic. Cameron Goodman is just lovely as Rennie Davidson, a very talented actress.

Completely agreed.

Fun fact--a lot of the scenes deleted from the Zane movie apparently were about the romance. (And, according to the trivia section for that movie here on IMDb, would have shown that Diane wasn't an idiot; she put two and two together when Kit was around whenever the Phantom wasn't).
