Sorry just had to ask but this movie has no big name actors/actresses, it features no eye popping special effects, no exotic or expensive filming locations and no expensive shots (car chases, stunts, etc.) Luckily these movie companies are not using our tax money to fund these projects :P

A lot of the movie was filmed on location which is when the crew film in an actual setting rather than on a sound stage or back lot. Taking a whole film crew to film on location can be extremely expensive

shareAccording to the-numbers.com, the worldwide gross for Charlie St. Cloud was 48 million. Add to that about the same amount for publicity/promotion, that leaves this movie as a definite failure. Too bad, I thought it was kinda sweet. :)
