Great film..if only it could be released

Peter Serafinowicz steals this movie. Why isn't it on general release yet?

From what I've been able to tell about the movie, its an indie film. That may explain why it hasn't been released. I just saw it though, and it DESERVES a release, although I wonder at the rating the MPAA would give it, could THAT be why it hasn't been released yet? Nothing really raunchy except for the "poetry"....

and the swingers party! lol

It's coming out on DVD and VoD in August (you can already pre-order the DVD from Amazon). There are a few more screenings this spring in NY and LA, and the filmmaker is working on setting up more screenings around the country. I believe he's also aiming for a theatrical release later this summer (not sure how wide it will be).

I found a page where they list the screenings:

I hope it gets a bigger release. It should.

Well, it got a torrent release... :)

Why because you work for them and despite you writing a shill review it got trashed by the critics and went straight to dvd where it did badly as well?

As someone who is not on a studio payroll and watched the movie without knowing anything about it beforehand, I thought it was hilarious. Granted it's off beat... way WAY off beat, but it's so outrageous I couldn't help but laugh out loud at several parts. My favorite line being when Captain Janeway talks about how she wants "Jew money" and how "that s--t stays crunchy in milk!"

The thing I liked about it was how it started off as some kind of fluffy Lifetime Channel kind of movie about two nice parents trying to get their kid into a good school and then it just gets raunchier and raunchier, and NPH doesn't go over the top, he just downplays his role so hilariously.

But this is certainly not a movie for everyone. I saw Hesher the same day and thought that was hilarious too, but again, not a movie for everybody.

Don't try to cash in love, that check will always bounce.
