Hugo Weaving

I can't say I've ever been a huge Hugo Weaving fan, even though he's managed to be a part of some of the most successful film franchises of all time (Lord of the Rings, Matrix). But I found his performance when he's told by Margaret that his mother died a year previously to be one of the most affecting scenes I've witnessed in a movie. Possibly because it reminded me so much of someone I know well, but it was a genuine, heart-felt, grief-stricken moment that was completely credible. My estimation of Hugo has risen.

Yes I agree, his performance was amazing. Didn't know he was that good.

Terrific performance.

Weaving has grown as an actor as he has got older.

Its that man again!!

Catch him in Bangkok Hilton (1989) with Denholm Elliott and a very young Nicole Kidman. Fabulous performances all round.

I agree with all who liked him in this film! I also liked his work in a 1991 film I recently saw called Proof (not to be confused with the also very good Paltrow film with the same title), in which he played a blind photographer (no, not a typo), who has an aide/buddy played by a young Russell Crowe.

I have seen enough to know I have seen too much. -- ALOTO

Those who are only familiar with him from TLOTR trilogy, the Matrix trilogy. V for Vendetta and Captain America might be surprised to get an idea of his depth of range, as he immerses himself in a character role speaking Australian English for a change.

I've seen and admired him in many films. I haven't seen any LOTR or comic book movies, so I've been able to view him in challenging roles.
