THe CGI in this movie is atrocious.

I watched it years ago when it first came out and remember not being impressed. I picked it up recently for dirt cheap and figured it'd give me a chance to reaccess it. While the movie isn't great by any means, it's not completely terrible. The original is obviously inferior and always will be. The thing I realized the 2nd viewing (or maybe just forgot about since I watched it last 4 years ago) is how terrible the CGI is. It was made in 2011, so why is the CGI so terrible?

CGI is terrible in every movie.

The original is NOT inferior, and the cgi in THIS film was excellent. But to each his own.

Honestly i prefer practical effects whenever possible. Let The Right One In & Let Me In, BOTH were excellent films but the use of some CGI in the American remake just didn't work. With that said...the CGI employed in this film during the confrontation on the empty road (which includes a great cameo by the ORIGINAL Dandridge) I thought was EXCELLENT. The way Dandridge's arm contorts back to the correct formation as the family drives off..great work.

This film is proof that practical special effects rules over CGI.
