Just saw the film...

Um... It's not good. It definitely had potential, but it was not good.

PROS: Reasonably good VFX, some decent kills, a very interesting premise, decent but not spectacular 3D.

CONS: Possible the worst acting this side of PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE. In particular: Dan Wyllie. The script's premise is interesting, but the dialogue is so painfully bad it physically hurts.

If you go into this film expecting a comedy... you'll be pleasantly surprised. Although, it's not a comedy. They made an unintentionally hilarious film. The film is incredibly slow for the 1st act, establishing characters, etc. Once the Tsunami happens and the sharks come it's better although... it's not good. It's just better.

On a scale of 1-10... 3 tops.

Ohh thats a shame! I was really looking forward to seeing this film. How did u see it? was it an advance screening or ...?

It was screening California in Santa Monica. For the AFM.

Um... Fav scary movie? the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE & NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, the Exorcist, and probably POLTERGEIST. The original HALLOWEEN and JC's THE THING. JAWS creeped me out as well. I thought recently INSIDIOUS was very scary.

Oh that sucks it wasn't very good. I was excited about watching the first australian 3D movie :( Can I ask, how big was Phoebe Tonkin's role? Who does she play? I'm a fan of hers but there's next to no info on the characters so far.
