This was a completely moving story for many reasons

Maybe because I grew up with the icon and copied her hair...even tried to copy her outfits..play tennis..she was just emblematic to my young girl mind of happy, healthy California girl (nee Texas).

I was quite moved by this and almost did not watch because of the complete sadness factor. I am glad I did...it promotes a lot of discussion and at the same time gives an inside look to a supposedly priviledge life and how sickness strips it away. Does not matter if you have money to jet to Germany for specialized treatments...the fear and the loss of health is all the same.

It promotes a lot of questions...like more info on rectal cancer? How does it differ from colon cancer? If she had agreed to an immediate anorectomy (removal of the anus)...with resulting colostomy..would have have fared better?

From an intrusive point..I was wondering..how did her son get so messed up with such a loving mother?

But overall..I was moved by the fact that in the end...this is a family...who gathered together...celebrates holidays and birthdays..has close friendships...does not matter it is seemingly in the lap of luxury...the feeling is the same and I for one am deeply sorry for her and her family.
