Utter crap

If you have to see this rubbish attempt at a decent British horror flick wait till it comes on a free to air channel. I've just wasted £3.99 with SkyMovies to see this crap, advertised as a spooky British chilller which was nothing like that. It's full to bursting with screaming teenage women, sulkfests, and nasty characters that you really couldn't care less about. A lazily written Z list movie, lazy because all the writer did was litter this crap with the F word ans Sh*it every five minutes, it became wearing after a while and shows the ineptitude of those responsible for making it. You DO NOT need the characters swearing to keep the attention, to appear edgy and out there. You need a decent story and a decent script; neither of what you get here.
You didn't want to invest in the characters or their fate, and I'm getting more and more annoyed that I buy a movie thinking it is one thing because of the cleverly written synopsis which is anything but what the movie is really about, it's false, it's rubbish and the writers need to go back to school and learn their trade properly so that they can really understand how to do a British horror film the right way. Go and see classic movies with Vincent Price and Chritopher Lee in them, now THAT'S how to do a British horror film.

Kelly Adams also needs to start picking her roles away from Hustle more carefully or that will be all she has.

I too wasted £3.99 on this the other night. I wish I had read your reveiw before had!

Yes it is crap. I ended up skipping through half of it!

Poor film!

reply

I liked it. Really good movie

reply

Boo hoo. I liked it, I thought it had a decent atmosphere and it was pretty interesting, more so than your normal bigger budgeted mainstream American formulaic Horror/Thriller crap.

If you keep an open mind, you`ll discover dark secrets.

reply

I watched it for free...but I still don't feel any less cheated.

Maybe I'm a complete idiot, but I have no idea what that movie was about, haha.

The bag lady? What part did she play in it? Declan getting hit by the good guy...so what?

Was the flashbacks meant to show us everything had a 'purpose' or was tied together?

This was a silly movie, and that's a shame because the premise (at least the first half) seemed interesting.

Now I want 90 minutes of my life back :(

reply

Why don't you invest your next 90 minutes into a decent education. It would save me, and the rest of us from reading stupid comments about a film people clearly didn't understand; and mostly due to their inherent need for superficiality. It takes literally a minute to Google any film and watch a trailer (don't give me that i wasn't at a computer crap, smartphone, simple). Not only do you criticise what is a great film but you then have the audacity to blame your own stupidity on it too. The down syndrome line for Shrek 7D is over there, please insert yourselves immediately.

so which part of the production were you involved in?

that's a good question.

and yes like others have said, this "film"is pure garbage.

god, this was bad

I'm clearly the director because I dare to question the spacks who disliked a movie. In fact, one comment says they skipped half the movie, such an intelligent lot.

reply

Your post is silly.

I would redress your comment; but I don't want to lower myself that much by making personal attacks.

I would say however...that your rating of 'That's My Boy' with Adam Sandler as a 10 pretty much makes all of your other posts meritless.

This movie was crap.

Not very original, but 'We accept the love we think we deserve.' Brilliant.

reply

Of course it was a silly movie - that's a given for the entire genre of end-of-days/apocalypse type movies.

The flashbacks were meant to show us that what happened was inevitable. Like the cycle of Ragnarok they referred to.

Watching this movie brought back those same fun vibes I got watching similar 80s movies like The Seventh Sign and Prince of Darkness.

To include this sh!te-fi technobabble ranting in the same group as 'Prince of Darkness' is an insult to JC (thats John Carpenter, not the other one). The closest that this POS can get to Carpenter is to lump 'Beacon77' in with the abyssmal remake of John Carpenter's 'The Fog', and if forced to rewatch one or the other, I'd take 'The Foggy mess of a remake' any day.

The only reason I watched this was Kelly Adams. I have only seen her in Hustle where I think she is great.

The setup of the movie was very interesting; but then it was all downhill from there.

Now I have to go find something else that Kelly Adams has done.
