... that he was an assassin? I was half-paying attention and it seems like she just figured it out in a dream.

Yeah, that crossed my mind too. Maybe, she just put it together on her own.

A secret room behind the bathroom with a room filled with guns. She woke up while he was sharpening throwing knives. That was my guess.

JCVD in the 'We have The Girl! If you want to her to live, you will surrender to us!' scene...

He was kinda like "Na. Kill her if you want. She's only my neighbour's bird. I only met her a couple of days ago anyway - not worth dying for..."

how she figured out he was an assasin, is really not the question to be asking. how the bleep did she find his secret room. she magically try to wash up & twist things just so to unlock the opening & instead of thinking this dude water got shut off, she magically tries to open up his sink?

additionally.... spoiler alert.......

How did the main bad guy know they were at the place (both of them) when he gave them the 15 minute altimatum to surrender.

I think the reason the chick knew that there was a secret room is because she probably heard the thing when she was in his apartment for the first time (after he takes the phone call and tells her to stay put). If you listen, you can hear the door and it's obnoxiously loud.

I don't know how she figured it out, but it wouldn't have taken much experimenting to determine how to get it open.

Also, as far as the main bad guy goes...I am guessing that Polo assumed that Vincent and Flint would be on their way, since he told Flint that he would give his wife another visit (after capturing him in City Hall) and since it was clear (or at least feasible) that Vincent helped Flint escape after he found out that Polo killed his neighbor chick.

She might have seen the secret room, but I'm sure there had to have been a scene where JCVD tells her the story of his life and it ended up on the cutting room floor.
