Jessica Szohr?

I read here: http://www.nola.com/movies/index.ssf/2010/04/dermot_mulroney_to_try_directi.html that Jessica Szohr is in this... and there's word she's been filming in New Orleans this week as well. Can anyone confirm this? And what role she's playing?

Can't tell you what role she is playing but on one of her websites there are pictures of her there filming.

Don't know if you already found out but she plays Mandy Moore sister in the movie.

Here’s a little bit more infomation on Jess’s role in the upcoming movie, “Love, Wedding, Marriage” which she wrapped filming for in May.

Also in the flick is Gossip Girl beauty Jessica Szohr, who plays Moore’s wild child sister. “She’s really funny,” the source says of Szohr. “She’s not in it a lot, but when she is, she’s great comic relief.”

Sounds good! Read more about the plot of the movie, especially for Mandy Moore and Kellan Lutz’s characters at the source.

Does anyone find it strange that she is playing the daughter of a white couple even though she is mixed (white and black) and he skin is much darker than theirs. Not that i have a problem with it, but i’m just wondering if their is a backstory there.

She is mostly white or Anglo in real life. 75% or more.

Geneticist have been telling us for decades that there is more variation within a race than between them. So, it would follow that there would be color, hair texture, height variations within white populations as well as black.

A friend of mine from Lousiana had one child with fair skin and one with olive complexion. She used to shield the one with the fair skin from swimming at certain times of the day. With the olive skinned child she was clearly less concerned about protection. Eventually, it got so cumbursome, trying to keep up with it all, that she just started imposing a restrictive ban to the olive skinned child. It was just easier that way. And by the way, the fairer skinned child had very curly hair similar to Nicole Kidman.

Genetics can be so much fun! But, just as there is variation within the blacks (Charlie Rangel versus Spike Lee) there is also variation within whites(Conan Obrien versus George Stephanopoulous). And of course, within bi-racial populations there are extremes such as with Mariah Carey and Barack Obama, both theoreticaly bi-racials, but one with a face seen mostly in white populations while Barack has facial features seen mostly in black populations albeit populations with some white ancestry.

Mandy's hair was dyed really dark for this movie and while she has that peaches and cream skin, I think the point was that they were supposed to be Jewish, so maybe there was a streeeeetch to make them look like they were of Middle-eastern descent. Just a thought I had while watching. I thought the lady who played her sister just was more tan :)
