Mandy Moore, Ph D.

What in the hell were the producers thinking casting Mandy Moore as a psychologist with a Ph.D? I didn't believe a word that came out of her mouth. And we're supposed to believe that a Dr would be maried to the Twilight dude who doesn't wear a shirt. Please. Her acting is atrocious...every line was delivered like a child actor. She needs to tone it down.

The sad part is, I normally really like Mandy. Twilight dude's acting was HORRENDOUS! I felt like I was watching a 5th grade play whenever he was on screen. Pretty sure he was only cast in that role because of his "looks" (which are not all that appealing to me personally.) I felt no chemistry between the two of them, either.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember the movie (I watched a few months ago) stating she had a PhD, she had a postgraduate license to practice Psychology which probably meant she had a Master's degree which I'm pretty sure you can get at the age of 26.

What is ironic though is that at the age of 21-22, Mandy played a PhD candidate art student in Dedication and her character was much more mature and believable in that role than this.

I have to admit, even as a fan of Mandy, she wasn't very convincing as a Psychologist but then again this movie was a hot mess waiting to happen.

Maybe they were trying to make her character look like an incompetent counsellor on purpose because she eventually ends up screwing up so who knows.

The movie was bad, though.

At the beginning of the movie in the voiceover, she'd mentioned she met her husband while she was doing her Ph.D. at Berkeley.

I got a laugh out of the PhD bit. Probably the only laugh this movie produced.

think she was a child actor and just never learned to actually act after she got boobs.
