Like a lot of cheesier channels, SyFy cut off the end and raced the credits in a small box so it could run yet more ads.

When, in the last minute of the film, the character Mark said to the family, "Come here and look at this," what was he looking at?

I think they were looking at the massive crack in the Earth caused by the 'quake.

He said "Look at this" and they looked over the edge of the massive fracture. The camera then zooms out to show the entire United States and the over-sized gash that cut across it.
