Yeah but you see the rating on IMDB but read so many thorough and praising reviews from critics in various countries and states and festivals, and you wonder where the disconnect is. Sure not all critics like it. Some hated it, but the majority at least said it had merit so it'd a bit confusing that anyone is rating this under 6.
But we have a thread on the imdb rating system so I get that many folks don't know how to properly rate films.

i agree with you and would liek to provide some inteligence. i have noticed that the more you rate the higher your influence becomes is more or less true. i have rated only movies that i saw, that is getting close to 1000 now, wow, so many time spent staring at screen. now an easy way to get votes is to vote for each episode of tv series. i only vote the actual series and not each episode, if i did i would probably had like 5000 votes by now. however to get into top 1000 you need way more. one guy that had a hostory of over 15000 votes said he is still not there, so theres a good measure of how many votes you have to fake to become the "super-user", do the random account created for voting down something purpose only have the patience to get there? its unlikely. however there are many of them, this is why top movies now have a huge amount of 1s there.
