What I REALLY couldn't swallow was...

...Gina (the black girl) being caught and somehow forced back into the house by Daniel. Once they were out neither would voluntarily go back in. They knew they were better off escaped getting help, Beth or no Beth. That was the hardest part to buy and sticks out as the worst opportunity blown.

That just shows how much he really did care about Beth

No, not even that. You don't save someone by putting yourself and another back as hostages. Once they were free on their own he could go to the police. The mother sent him out after Gina so it's not like his leaving was a violation for Ike to kill Beth. If he didn't come back with her right away it could be that he was trying to find her for all the mother knows. In that time they could get police help sent to the house and on the lookout for Beth with the license plate number.

Did you not see that Gina was unconscious when she woke up in the house. Daniel threw her down in the middle of the street, her face was covered in blood. He must have knocked her out and carried her back to the house. The editing in this movie sucked, that's for sure.

But then the Black girl gets free again but does she free everyone? No! Does she leave? No! She's looking for the mother. Then the black guy , who can barely see, is also stumbling around with her and they both get what they deserved! The other victims who get free also stay to try and kill their captors instead of getting the frack outta that house!

But she was timing him, she told him he had three minutes to get Gina back into the house or she'd have Beth killed. I'm sure if she didn't make it very clear that he had a small time limit, he would have gone with Gina to get help.

the movie was chock full of rediculous moments and questionable decisions by the characters. i was on edge during some scenes and in others i was left scratching my head.

Yeah. That bugged me too. But then, that's the case with most horror flicks. The characters never seem to do the best things. For example, when you knock the bad guy down, you don't just throw away your weapon and run, you should keep stabbing, shooting, or bludgeoning the bad guy until he is just a puddle of goo. Several times the characters did that in this movie. Although, to their credit, they did stab Addie quite a lot of times.

Plus, they spent the first half of the movie alone downstairs with an array of weapons (billiard balls, knives in the box, lumber, screwdrivers, etc.) and they did nothing with them. I thought the movie was going to turn good when the black guy grabbed a pool stick, but nothing ever came of it.

Bout 10 other scenes like that, couldn't stomach how they all sneak up on son and kill. Yet mom comes downstairs and all back to sittin around? Why would the power be back on also, could name at least 10 other chances could have gotten away also. And girl is littlery on operating table when she writes that need help. Haa, guess they don't put people under whn operate on? Good movie ruined by nonstop mistakes like that.

I'm usually very forgiving of victims' stupid behavior in horror movies, but this was beyond the pale. They had SO many opportunities to escape. In the beginning of the movie they outnumber their assailants almost 3-to-1, and one of those assailants was mortally wounded. Even once mama showed up there were almost no scenes where this large group of adults were dealing with more than one attacker at a time. They turn on each other when they should be going after the psychos time and time again. I felt very little sympathy for the victims because they were so stupid and selfish. They get the upper hand in physical confrontations only to run like fools. At one point Beth has Ike at gunpoint and what does she do? Fire a warning shot and demand his cell phone? Terrible. They deserved to die.
