How in the heck did the mother and Johnny survive unscathed??

A few months later they look all fine and dandy continuing on as normal. The mother was bashed in the head several times over and over on several occasions enough to kill or cause permanent, visible damage. Johnny was on his deathbed (thought he died for a moment) and had such serious wounds untreated. Since the cops knew who the suspects were they couldn't have gone to the hospital.

Also, how did the mother and Johnny escape in their condition? This I really WANT TO KNOW. Of course, Gina surviving is a stretch as well.

When Beth was beating Natalie with the cutting board, was it certain that she was hitting her in the head the whole time? She's kind of doing it off screen so I'm unsure. Even Beth seemed to think Natalie would still be alive. Gina surviving didn't seem so unrealistic to me either.

However, it is a stretch that both Johnny and Melissa survived if you ask me. Melissa was shot in the face and left alone for hours before anyone found her, and her surviving served no purpose to the story.

The ending was kind of predictable, tbh.

The only thing that really surprised me in the movie was when the doctor got shot and killed - really thought that he (or at least his death) would get the sister to turn on her family by the end after all the build-up for it... so much for that! lol
