Could somebody explain to me who the hooded killer was and who Takeda took him to be? He says that even though he's going back to Japan to be courtmartialed, he's better off than this fellow, so did he think he was a P.O.W., perhaps? In whose interest was it for Takeda not to make it back home? It is unlikely he'd be in a position to take action against anyone but perhaps he knew something someone didn't want divulged? Alas, I didn't pick up on what this might be.

It was Wu who killed Takeda.
I think Takeda thought the guy was one of the people from the puppet Chinese government that supported Japan. Maybe a high ranking officials. Which would make sense- Takeda told him that he was a criminal, but at least he was going home. The official would be leaving his homeland, China, as most people would see him as a traitor.
Takeda did not know it was Wu. Wu killed him as a revenge for killing Gu and keeping them hostage in the castle, etc.
Magnum literally took things into his own hands.
