So sick of movies like this...

I'm all for good scary movies, and haunted movies, but a few things are killing me about this genre:

1) the random haunted incidents. Okay...we get it...the place is haunted. A dresser moved 2 inches. A drawer opened. WooOOoo! Seen that a thousand times already...no need do dedicate half a movie to non-creepy cliche things.

2) I'm sick of movies that come up with good horror images, and then do nothing with them. In this movie, we had a creepy girl crawling out from a washing machine that supposedly wanted into our world, but NOTHING came of that premise. And then the boys didn't see that girl? It didn't even make sense.

I loved the creepy mold imagery, but then it goes nowhere. I would have liked to have seen more with that...maybe appear on their skin or something?

Then the last shot of the hands wrapping up the girl...why? She was already in some dead zone world...what was the point? Can you die after already dieing?

3) Defying the laws of physics...okay...the whole stupid part when the girl nailed up the door, just to appear on the other side of it. Give me a break! Or the things disappearing into the walls...why? At least explain that to us.

4) No noise when bad things are happening. How can there be NO noise when major things are being absorbed into walls and moved around? How can there be no noise when her closet is mangled?

There are just too many of these freaking haunting movies and it would be nice if they TRIED to stand out and have some originality to them already.

The scene of the girl crawling out of the washing machine, just randomly inserted into the movie, shows how directionless this movie was. It's as if the makers of the film just said, "This scene worked well in The Grudge - let's throw something similar in here."

The entire movie felt like just a montage of random scenes and ideas from other horror movies.

That was actually a dead version of herself that crawls out of the washer. That wasn't the actual apparition of the entity, it just took the form of her dead in order to terrify her.

She even had the exact same clothes on.
