Decent 'free' instant Netflix movie

I was looking for a decent 90 minute horror movie, and this one satisfied what I was looking for.

That said, I'm sick and tired of stupid horror movie characters. Do movie really need to make characters this dumb in order to drive the story? Generally everything dumb involved the character Luke:

(*) I'm scared of heights so I'm gonna go climbing with my girlfriend so that she doesn't smooch that bald guy.

(*) We're fighting for our lives, but my main concern is keeping my girlfriend away from the bald guy.

(*) We've just watched our friend die before our eyes, and we're probably next, but all I care about is that my girlfriend is hugging the bald guy.

(*) I am the bald guy and I just escaped from my dungeon and untied the girl. We can either look for weapons and prepare for our escape, or we can take some time out to hug. I think we should hug.

(*) I'm fighting a feral human on the edge of a cliff and I got the upper hand! I can either push him off the cliff or I grab onto a ladder hanging from the side of the cliff. (This reminds me of beginning of "Scary Movie" where the victim has a choice between selecting a mace, gun, crossbow, other weapons, and a banana and she picks the banana.)


I can understand scared and selfish characters, but I'm so sick of dumb ones.

This was one of the better dubbed movies I have seen. I think I watched about 10 minutes of it before I realized something was wrong, and then I thought that maybe the audio and video were just out-of-sync by a fraction of a second or something.

I read a few other comments here and it seems that the bad guy cut the steel cable with a pocket knife and sent the final survivor to her death. They didn't show this so I assume we're supposed to assume that's what happened. (My ending credits were in English)

BTW: Wouldn't a feral human being living in the wilderness go naked, have an epically long beard, and wild hair? Where does he buy his clothing and razors? It might have been interesting if this guy was really a normal dude who likes to go feral on the weekends.


Civility is just a warm and fuzzy name for censorship.
