Why did they keep showing flashbacks...

of Luke in the hospital? That's the only part of the movie that confused me at all. I just don't get how that fits in with the rest of the movie, but maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, lol. It looked like him laying in a hospital bed and Chloe standing near him in a nurses or candystriper uniform.

She belongs to you...You took her life and gave her a new one, a life extraordinary.

That wasn't Luke. That was some young boy. She works in a hospital and messed up and he died. She was all stressed about it and not sure if she was going to go back to medicine or not because of feeling so guilty about it. It was a dumb sub-plot that I think was supposed to tie-in to the last bit where she is not able to stab the bad guy in the neck and finish him (like she should have). I think the movie-makers were trying to make her more interesting or something. While I didn't hate the movie, it could've been done much, much better.

Thanks, that had confused me too.

Definitely agree about the legs. Karine's character was simply too cute & sexy in those shorts & windbreaker ... you knew something bad was going to happen to her.

As for the flashbacks, I got the impression Chloe is a nurse rather than a physician & was confronted with the sudden need to perform a tracheotomy on the kid. Not something nurse's are trained to do, but some have done nevertheless when the alternative is suffocation. I think she hesitated too long & the issue became moot when the kid died. A rough guess would be that the hospital incident had been developed more but was then cut out for running time. It really should have been cut in its entirety.
