Luke is a b*tch

I agree he's such a coward for a guy. When Chloe falls into the hole, he didn't even go down to get her. I mean she's his girlfriend! And Karine had to go down to get her! I mean seriously?! And if he knew he had vertigo why would he follow them to the mountains! And when Anton hit Chloe he ran away. Jeez, be a man! If he was my boyfriend I would totally leave him immediately! I mean Chloe is a girl and in my opinion she's much much stronger than him.

haha he was one of them characters u wanted to die at the start LOL

He was a bitch, but he kind of redeemed himself at the end when he returned and lured Anton away before he could kill Chloe. He even managed to do some damage when he scrapped with Anton. He should have kept on him with that rock rather than trying to climb down the cliff.

William really surprised me though. I thought he was firmly established as the bigger man, but then he let Luke fall and set himself up for a karmic demise. That was a mistake; I think he'd already won Chloe over and had nothing to gain from Luke's death. He just left himself vulnerable for the ol' Steve Martin routine from Anton.

Don't unform, you're a great mob. We'll think up something else to get upset about.

William did let Luke go on purpose. You can tell. The movie shows William genuinely struggling to hold him up and then it shows him lock eyes onto Luke and get that fiery look in his eyes. Luke knew it too because he looked into William's eyes and said "no please don't" so obviously Luke knew exactly what William was thinking.

Did you also forget that when Luke, Chloe and William were in the cabin Luke took the backpack from William then kicked him down the stairs and locked the door? William absolutely let Luke fall on purpose and I'm glad he did.

Just finished watching this crap. I hated Luke too. William definitely let him go on purpose and he deserved it. Luke sets up William to die because Chloe hugged him. She who needed a hug because she was in shock. Luke was not to be trusted. I was hoping william would get away with Chloe.

Luke was just so annoying. He could have helped chloe fight the guy in that cabin. She jumped in to help & then he left her. If he was more of a man instead of standing in fear & then running away, they could have ended it right there.

So he came back. Problem with Luke's so called heroic return is that Anton could have already killed Chloe, not to mention William, who he trapped & left there in hopes he would be killed off. And I think he came back out of guilt & not knowing how he was going to get out of there alone. Dude was a real coward.

He was okay. I would have been pretty ticked if the 5th wheel was scamming on my girlfriend right in front of my while I was on my vacation. Of all the nerve!

reply

So... you hated the guy who was afraid of heights because he acted neurotic on the mountain with a deranged killer, instead of like some macho cliche, or because he locked the other guy in the basement due to a fear that the ex-boyfriend would try to betray them?

William was a huge tool. The guy was obviously bitter from the start with his moody little staring, self-pity, texting someone in the car, and genuinely being a creep of an ex. "Hey... hey... just wanted to say its nice to see you, is that okay with you?!" [paraphrasing]

Don't get me wrong. Luke had his jealous stares and crap as well. For a while, I thought they were going to do the boyfriend = jerk and ex = saint *beep* despite the crap at the start; however, it ended up with the boyfriend being a jealous coward and the other guy really was a backstabbing prick. Not exactly any admirable male characters here. I just don't get why you'd cheer for the murderous prick to get the cliche happy ending simply because he killed a paranoid prick.

Dude was a real coward.

No, a real coward would have not have come back at all.

William ? Luke? Did I watch a different movie?

I take it Luke is Loic but there was no William. Fred and Guillaume.

reply

Fred gets killed off pretty quickly. He could handle himself and actually looked and acted like a real climber. Luke..lol at least he went back and clobbered Mr. Ugly with a rock and gave Chloe some time to get away.

you got that right- word I would use starts with a c, has 2 letters in the middle and ends with T

When Loic fled Anton's cabin the first time, I thought his fast walking looked very effeminate and prissy. Geez, Loic, if you're gonna flee, then at least flee like a man!
