Well, It's Over :(

This was one of the few, smartly written shows on Disney Channel (technically Disney XD), IMO.

Sure, it was over-the-top and just straight up wacky... But that was the fun of it!

Most sitcoms are constrained by trying to mimic everyday life in humorous ways. This show tossed all that aside and said, screw realism! Let's just have fun! I wish more shows did this because at the end of the day this show was a better show for it because when there are no rules, you can never go too far

In my opinion, this show did not click with the intended target audience (tween males) because they are too young to know what Rock/Heavy Metal is. "IITB" was a victim of a cultural shift to more manufactured music (Pop/Hip Hop/Rap) compared to previous generations. Millennials have never known bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Motely Crew, etc. All they know are the likes of Riannah, Jayzee and Miley Cyrus. There is no way to have them be into something that is more or less ancient history to them. It'd be like asking most of us to get into harpsichord music from the 19th century and the artists who performed it and "love them".

Regardless, this was one of the few shows on Disney that was truly written for all members of the family and anybody who appreciates outrageous slapstick and clever word play. I will miss this show dearly because the cast was top notch, their repport genuine and this show just made me smile during, and at the end of every single episode

It is a shame Disney did not have confidence in this show because I feel it was hitting its stride by introducing Principal Jenkins as Trip and the Band's nemesis.

On a positive note, I am glad they went out with a gut-busting bang with "Iron Weasel vs. Mini-Weasel".

This episode did not disappoint, and I found myself laughing out loud as usual. It also managed to wrap up their stories (more or less) because we knew they'd never make it back to the top like they wanted, but in lieu of that they have found a better life "in the suburbs with a kid in the band". This is a fitting end for these characters because that's what this show has always been about underneath: Family.

For those about to Rock, I salute "I'm in The Band" as one of the more daring and genuinely funny shows to grace my TV screen in a very long while. I hope the creators/writers/cast/crew go onto similar projects that last a lot longer because it is very rare when a convergence of this much talent occurs to produce something as fun and memorable as this show was.

Party on, Dudes!
