Character Analysis [spoilers]

SPOILERS.

This is a fantastic action thriller, a dark storyline, but it doesn't cross the line into being unwatchable.

Dwayne Johnson always plays the likeable character even when he's a bad guy LOL, he isn't exactly a bad guy in this film, but he isn't the good guy either, revenge doesn't make you the good guy it makes you just as bad as the bad guys.

As a Brit iv'e never heard of that English actor, iv'e only seen him in this movie, he's a decent actor. Professional movie critics have stated that they "don't know why his girlfriend turned wife character is in this movie" it's simple, the movie needs someone for him to talk to / for his character to play off of, if she wasn't there he would have been a mute character, and maybe that would be fine, but obviously the writers and director wanted him to have dialogue. Fans of this movie have stated that they don't know why he is relevant to this movie, this is simple as well, He was sent by Billy Bob Thornton's character to finish killing Dwayne's character, it's that simple, when Dwayne gets out of prison and starts getting his revenge killing everyone, Billy Bob Thornton's character who was a dirty cop wanted Dwayne's character dead just like the beginning of the film, Thornton hired the English hitman to finish the job because the guys who shot Dwayne and his brother were the guys who Thornton's character hired, they failed at killing Dwayne, so Thornton hired the British hitman to finish the job.

A great movie.
