Do they ever show the Middle East crumbling?

I have been watching the first season and so far it looks like they pretty much focus on only American cities collapsing. Since the show airs mainly on American tv I can understand that but they should also show how badly cities in other countries will fare like show Mecca turning back into dust. That should make some muslims pissed off.
