really?

What's the point of this pointless series, except the obvious political viewpoint(s) of the writers?

What's the point of people..?

I really don't know anything about this, but seeing those screenshots and just the thought of life after people seem strangely comforting to me...

We can't kill this planet before it kills us, no matter how hard we try.

Whatever the point(lessness) of this series, I can't wait to see it.

"You guys had a riot... on account of me? My very own riot?!"

What "obvious political viewpoint(s)"? It's a series about what happens when man-made cities and infrastructure and systems, which need regular maintenance, don't get that maintenance because no one is around to provide any.

reply

Exactly what political viewpoint are you talking about? I didn't notice any.

Maybe you are confusing that a few political ideas can be read into it, for an attempt to make a specific political statement. Not the same thing.

reply

Hmm, I think this is one of the most neutral shows ever made. They make no attempt to explain why humans disappeared, simply the speculative results.

Do you hate me because I have no avatar? Do you even give a damn?

reply

how can you have politics without people

reply

This series was ENTIRELY about speculation (with a lot of information gathering) and not in the least about 'politics.'
It didn't 'care' who/what caused people to go poof, just what might happen when/if we do.

Violence. If it's not solving all your problems, you're simply not using enough.

Exactly, I just don't see a political component either. The question has been made countless times before (like all the Twilight Zone episodes where 1-2 people become the last ones on Earth), what would it be like without people (or, more often, what would it be like without other people).

The show implies that humans just disappeared, because it assumes that on day #1 the buildings are in the shape they are now, the climate is the same as it is now, and animal/plant life/etc. is all like it is now. If it implied anything political there would be destroyed cities from nuclear war, or already-flooded cities from global warming, or extinct animal species from whatever biological virus, etc. caused humans to go extinct, and of course, there are no bodies. I would say that the original poster may be looking to complain about some conspiracy to imply a religious rapture or something, but then that would imply some humans would remain, if that were the goal.

whats the point? simply something you lack entirely: EDUCATION! This is a documentary, not a simple entertainment show, the point is to give us a very specific subject about engineering, architecture, fauna, flora, structural analisys...basicaly, this show is a must-see to all engineering and architecture students, definitely.

The OP was trying to make this a political debate but failed entirely.
