Bitter writers, much?
GOOD FOR SHENAE THOUGH FOR LEAVING DEGRASSI.
90210 may not be "the next OC" but it's a good show and it made her a star.
Shenae Grimes is really popular here in Hollywood and she really probably the most popular Degrassi album next to Drake.
I think the Shenae diss a little uncalled for.
I highly doubt it was a 'bitter diss.' She's a spoiled teen star, another spoiled teen star made a reference to her. An inside joke for real Degrassi fans. Big deal. Stop being dramatic.

What happened to Aubrey (Drake)'s dressing room? Did he seriously show up one day and find one of the newbie's names on the door? Because if they did that without telling him then that's quite effed up.

And I dont see Shenae "going on to greener pastures" by being on 90210. I dont know a single person who watches that show and I know an army of people who watch DEGRASSI.

shareI think some of you are taking this way more personal then Shenae ever would. Like I said on the other board, it was not that serious. It was a joke. The writers have no reason to be bitter! Degrassi is an extremely successful show heading into their 9th season with many more on the horizon and 90210 struggled to get to season 2. There's no reason for bitterness or jealousy. It was just a joke. Get over it.

However, 90210 has propelled Shenae to relevancy. Tabloid magazine covers and entries on gossip blogs. Degrassi never did that.
I wonder how they'll get Nina off the show with her going to the vampire diaries. It seems to me like Peter is happy with Mia and now they're gonna have to take that away.
and the thing with Shenae was most likely just a joke. As a 90210 and Degrassi fan I found it hilarious.

Nina's character Mia is moving to Paris (for modeling). I thought that was a great way for her to leave the show, it makes sense. As for the comment about Shenae I think it wasn't a diss, I think that it was there way of giving her a shout out.

I don't think the writers were taking a dig at Shenae Grimes or 90210 at all. First of all, real TV shows do not have aftershows, only reality TV shows do.
Secondly, the writers were referencing Shenae Grimes (who played Darcy) and the After Show (which is co-hosted by Dan Levy - who played Robbie in this film).
the whole movie had a tongue and cheek vibe and I think that was Degrassi's way of giving her a little shout out. Cause really can anyone explain how that line was a diss at all.
shareThe girl who made the comment is actually a villain of the movie, so it's ultimately more of a Compliment.
Shenae got the 90210 role cause of Degrassi, hell the character is basically exactly the same as Darcy minus any references to her being a Christian, cause a Hollywood TV show would make a Christian a like able character.
It was a funny in joke, no need to read any more into it, if any message was intended it was about mocking people on shows like The Hills actually taking themselves seriously.
