Specifically. what I mean is: does this movie take place after season 7? or after season 8? I haven't watched season 7 or 8 yet, so I don't want to watch the movie until I catch up. Anyone know where this movie fits in??

I wish they would have put it at the end of season 7 and make it the series finale. it would be a great finale because we get to see all of the original cast.
season 8 sucked because it barely had any of the original characters.
A show cannot "suck" because they have new characters.
I wish people would just give the new kids a chance. well most of them one.
Of course it can. I grew up watching Degrassi. I watched all the cast members get older and go to college. At 23, I'd like to see them all in college facing issues college kids would have but instead, we're given a whole new batch of high schoolers. I've lost interest in the show because of that.

In my opinion, it doesn't seem to fit with any of the seasons. That's only because the storyline, as it appears in the ads, fits more with things we know about individual characters, not storylines of seasons. There is also alot with characters that haven't really been shown in a while

They rarely fit anywhere in the actual series and most likely will go unacknowledged throughout the rest of the series. I'll be insanely surprised if this movie impacts Degrassi as much as saying "Hey, remember that crazy time when we were going to L.A. to be in a movie and I found a phone in the bushes?"

Degrassi does that all the time! The one thing that they never brought up after a couple of episodes was Paige's rape; like it never happened. You think that it would pop up somewhere at least once in the future, unless she's like really good at handling things.
