Doris Roberts is so great in this. I love that Hallmark plays it, and Call Me Mrs Miracle multiple times every year.
Take it for what it is! Even thought it is unrealistic and overly sentimental, it is so comforting.
It really is a wonderful, uplifting Christmas movie... do you know if they're planning to air it this year? I was just at Hallmark's website and I didn't see it on their schedule.

Doris Roberts is the best fairy godmother/Santa figure I've ever seen. She is absolutely delightful. Lovely movie.
