Who here

Had heard of Deadpool before this movie was made and who hadn’t I’m really curious to know.

I had. Comics.

I've been reading about Deadpool since the character was introduced. Truthfully though I preferred him when he was a straight out villain rather than the anti-hero they play him up to be now.

I admit though I am in the extreme minority here.

I'm comic savvy, i've always known Deadpool was out there but I only thought he was some weird ninja, I never followed his books. I didn't come to understand who Deadpool was as a character until he exploded as a posterchild for memes years ago.

I did.... although I can’t quite say I was a Deadpool aficionado. Being a longtime Marvel fan, I had heard about him for years and had kinda a good idea of what his deal was, but I didn’t really understand who the character was until I started collecting more DP comics before the movie came out. I was perhaps a little late to the game.

And prior to the movie’s release ...like almost a year... I was enjoying all those online videos featuring his character, some which were made by Ryan Reynolds and others starring an imposter DP, haha. Love the character as he is in these films — he couldn’t be any more perfect.

I learned about him in the mid 2000s. A few years later they put him in X-Men Origins, kinda. The movie had me confused because the character resembled nothing from what I remembered in the comics. I was relieved when other people agreed, and that it was the movie that screwed it up.

reply

I definitely hadn’t.

I heard of him and knew what he looked like, but that was about it.
