I loved this movie but why are henchmen always so dumb?

This isn't unique to this movie, but superhero movies in general:

1) We have the hero who is a superhuman like deadpool
2) In this universe, everyone knows about mutants like deadpool
3) The henchmen would know he has super skills and can instantly heal

So why is there always a scene where deadpool slices and dices through bad guys, one henchmen gets a lucky shot and deadpool goes down and EVERYONE stops shooting?

If I was a henchman, once deadpool went down, I would empty clip after clip into his unconscious body. Then I would dismember the body on the way to the incinerator or morgue where I would vaporize what's left just to be safe.

But no, everyone stops shooting. They all walk towards deadpool slowly, until of course he recovers and returns to slicing and dicing the bad guys.
