Terrible, terrible show

"Hey, let's take the tiniest sliver of an actual story, then throw a bunch of SUPERKEWL VAMPIRE POWERZZZZ into it!"

Everything about this show was style, style, style. The story itself had virtually zero meaning, because there's no reason to give a sh_t about the brother. We don't know him. We don't really know his sister. Neither of them have any interesting character traits whatsoever, and there's no emotional connection to literally anybody in the show. The idea of a missing brother isn't that interesting to begin with.

This show was an attempt to cash in on the vampire drama craze, as if the people at MTV thought that simply having that genre would immediately make it a hit. At no point was there any desire to tell a story, or any inspiration to say something distinct.

It's an attempt at a T-Shirt marketing program. Transparent as possible.
