I swear I read a long time ago that this movie was going to be set like in the 20s....does anyone remember that too?

Since the event happened in 1988 and involved modern water/aircraft, I'd think that it would be difficult to tell this story if it were to take place in the 1920s.

Do you think you might be mixing up the 1925 serum run that inspired the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race?

I would have swore it happened after I'd moved across state in 1996 and was amazed it happened in 1988.

You do realize it's based on a true story...so it was 'set' during the time it actually occurred...right?
